The Optical Televiewer (OPTV) tool produces a continuos sidewall  true color image using a digital charged coupled device (CCD) sensor. The tool can operated in either dry or water-filled portion is optically clear. The sidewall images plot as a 2-D unwrapped plot which can be oriented to magnetic or true geodetic north.
